I try very hard to compost all of my fruits and veggies that aren’t used. I have even found compostable cleaning wipes from Green Works (pretty cheap at Publix).
I have a huge compost bin in my backyard and I love the idea that I am not wasting space in a landfill with things that will decompose naturally. I also am secretly in love with these super cute compost buckets that you can put underneath your sink. They are from Amazon and are super cute. But for almost $20 I just can’t bring myself to do it! They hold gross decaying food, there is no way I am spending money on something that gets more and more disgusting every day!
My solution? I reuse large greek yogurt containers. I buy greek yogurt every single week. We go through it so fast because it is so delicious on everything. I stuff all my compostable stuff in the container and store it under the sink. Every few days I take it out back to the compost bin. And when it gets gross by the end of the week, I rinse it and recycle it. How is that for saving $20?
