Mornings are about to get pretty hectic around here! Robert is heading to preschool in less than a month. I can’t believe he is going to school already. Three seems so young for preschool, doesn’t it? He’s too little to read and follow a written checklist.
In order to make mornings a little simpler, I’ve put together a personalized back to school morning routine checklist with pictures. This way Robert can visualize what he needs to accomplish each morning before heading out the door.
As easy as it is to print out a ready made checklist, it’s not as much fun. Plus, I really wanted Robert to have ownership of his morning routine checklist. He loved the bedtime routine checklist we made a few months ago, so I knew it would be good to make one just for school mornings. Here is our finished product.
Robert and I set aside 30 minutes one morning to discuss his morning routine. Seeing as how he is three, it wasn’t as much of a discussion as it was a ridiculous conversation about all the things he wants to do at school. Even so, I tried to steer him back on track by going through the routine of waking up, eating breakfast, getting dressed and packing up his backpack.
I’m so glad we’ve started doing run throughs. I have a feeling we are going to have to do a few more as school gets closer.
Here are the steps I followed to create this fun and personalized back to school morning routine checklist.Follow these steps to create a photo checklist for busy back to school mornings. #bts #DIY Click To Tweet
Hold a mock morning routine day and go through the morning routine several times. Take pictures of each step along the way.
Upload your pictures to your favorite collage app on your phone. I use Pic Collage because it’s user friendly.
Print your photo. It’s that easy!
This was my first print job from my new HP printer from Walmart. Y’all, I can’t get over this price. A printer for less than $50. Yes, please.
It’s so cool! I love that it is affordable and can easily print, scan and copy right out of the box. I can even print from my iPhone! To make it even better, the ink cartridges last twice as long as my old HP printer cartridges. I’m definitely getting the best bang for my buck!
Plus, the purple look so good with my Mac and iPhone, doesn’t it? My desk area feels super trendy right now.
