Some weeks are just better than others for spending, right? This week was one of them for me.
We ate pretty well on a budget.
I threw together a vegetarian enchilada meal with black beans and sweet potatoes.
I didn’t even buy meat this week for dinners because I was trying to see if we could eat as little meat as possible. Turns out, we can! I love going meatless every now and then because it saves so much money.
Tom and I got to eat for “free” at one of our favorite sushi places, Komoon, on Monday night.
I write “free” because we had to listen to a talk from a chiropractor. He was trying to get us to sign up for a consultation with him. While I’d love to see him, I don’t have the time or money for it right now. Maybe in a few years!
Our BluRay player died so I bought a new one at Best Buy with gift cards from tweeting. I’ve been working with the Best Buy Blogger program and love getting paid in gift cards! I’m so glad I saved up my gift cards for something I needed.
Learn more about earning money as a social media influencer here. I learned all my Twitter secrets in the Twitter Legend course. Now I’m making at least $200 a month on Twitter alone. It’s easy money and lots of fun!
The boys were happy this week too. They got to “work” again as toy testers. We got another big shipment from V-tech. If you want to learn how to become a toy tester, read this post. The kids actually preferred the bubble wrap over the toys this time!
We also has some frugal fun by making a new batch of play dough.
It’s so much fun to make our own instead of buying it. The boys love pouring the ingredients and mixing it up.
With so many successes, you’d think I’d have a few saving failures this week. We only have one. We had hoped to pay the last of Tom’s loans this month, but it will have to wait. We still owe ~$2,500. Since we owner financed my old car for my mom instead of selling it, we can’t wipe out that loan as quickly as we hoped. We will keep working towards it though! No eating out or spending frivolously until it’s gone!
How did you do this week?
