What a fun week! I love all the Halloween hype. I’m definitely in the Halloween mood as I write up this week in review.
Here are some of the fun things we’ve been up to lately.
The boys and I went to Boo at the Zoo at Naples Zoo. Kids in costume got in free last weekend! Not that we needed that special offer since we have a family pass through Groupon. I’m always on the lookout for new ways to save money in Naples and Southwest Florida. I even have a new Instagram account all about saving money in Naples. Check it out here! Hopefully I’ll have a website in 2017.
They had so much fun! We also went to the pumpkin patch to pick out a couple pumpkins.
I am not ready for Halloween to be over! I’ve got a couple more ways to celebrate before the season is over. We did a pumpkin beer tasting last night.
And I’m throwing a Halloween themed “mommy happy hour” tonight. We’ll wrap up Halloween with a family party on Halloween night, complete with pizza and candy! Even though I’m sad for the season to be over, I can’t wait to take my boys trick or treating!
Tom and I were even able to squeeze a date night in this week. We headed out after the boys went to sleep to buy pumpkin beer for the tasting. Afterwards, we stopped at Applebee’s for beer and sweet potato fries. I haven’t been to an Applebee’s since my teaching days when we did happy hours there. I forgot how much I love that place. It’s reasonably priced in this crazy overpriced town.
I can’t believe that Thanksgiving will be here soon! You may know that I’m starting a new website, Beautiful Budget Life, with my friends, Lisa and Gina. To celebrate the upcoming launch, we’re hosting a giveaway for $1200. Head here to enter.
This has been a fun week for reviews too. I was able to review two new products through Mom’s Meet.
Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Oatmeal
As well as these new books from National Geographic.
I love the ease of the oatmeal. You add water, stir, microwave, let sit and stir again. So simple! I’m not gluten free, but I keep hearing that it’s good to limit our gluten anyway. Since I get a lot through bread and pizza, I probably don’t need it in my oatmeal. It’s great that Bob’s Red Mill offers an alternative for people who are gluten free.
As for the books, they are so cute! My boys are a little young for them so we passed them on to a friend as a gift. They are great for elementary to middle school age kids.
I’m a huge fan of National Geographic books for my kids. My little ones get the kid magazines from National Geographic and absolutely love them! I hope they will continue to have a passion for learning about the world around them.
Spending has been okay this week. I’m starting to spend more to get ready for Christmas. I’m trying to pick up a gift once a week until I have everything on my listed bought. Even though I’m spending a little more each week, it’ll be worth not having to spend a huge lump sum close to Christmas.
How was your week?
