Have you ever thought of giving subscription boxes as a Christmas gift?
I love subscription boxes. I love getting them, and I love giving them. That’s why I had to put together a blog about about them. Here is a list of my favorite ones that make for the best subscription boxes to give this Christmas.
Subscriptions boxes are fun Christmas gifts for the those hard to shop for people in your life. The reason they are so great is because they are the gifts that keep on giving. Who doesn’t love to get mail, especially reoccurring packages? The best gift my dad ever gave me was a subscription to the Wine of the Month Club because even though I knew it was coming, it always felt like a special surprise!
Here is my updated list for 2016 of the best subscription boxes to gift this year.
Graze starts out at $11.99 for a selection of 4 healthy snacks. They offer great gift options for 3, 5, 10 or 50 boxes. The selection of food includes popcorn, nuts, dried fruit and granola bars. This is a great box for foodies who are health conscious. I loved my boxes so much. Each snack was better than the last.Give the gift of snacking with Graze! http://cafetrack.com/?a=21822&c=17513&s1=2 Click To Tweet
MistoBox is a coffee subscription with a selection of 30+ of the best artisan coffee roasters. Each shipment includes either a 12 ounce bag of coffee or 4 sampling of coffee. Subscriptions range from a one time charge of $18 to $216 for the entire year. I was able to sample a box and found it delightful. As a coffee lover I enjoy trying new flavors and it was so cool to branch out and try different roasters.
People’s Choice Beef Jerky
People’s Choice Beef Jerky isn’t actually a subscription box, but it still makes for a great gift. You’ll see this again in my roundup of gifts I’m giving this year post! I love how they have so many different boxes to choose from: simple & savory, sweet tooth, some like it hot, health nut, and one of everything. The prices are great too! The simple & savory and the sweet tooth boxes are both $23 and include 3 bags of jerky and one stick.
Fab Fit Fun
I reviewed the Fab Fit Fun box over the summer, and absolutely loved it! It’s only $49.99 for a box worth over $200. Most subscription boxes are tiny pick me ups, this one delivers on a huge scale. If you are looking for a gift with a big bang, this is your box!
Here’s another one that is worth a lot of money. Rocksbox isn’t a true subscription box, instead of keeping all the contents, you decide what to purchase and what to send back. You get a $10 credit with each box. It’s $19 a month for $200 worth of jewelry to wear until you decide to return it.
I thoroughly enjoyed my subscription to Wine of the Month, the original wine club. However, there is a new wine club that is gaining in popularity and is worth checking out. Club W allows the recipient to take a palate profile quiz to help figure out which wines would be best suited for them. This is very different from the old clubs that only offered a selection of white, red, or a mix of the two.
The gift isn’t cheap though. One month is $50 and you have the choice to give 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10 and 12 month gifts. Each box comes with 3 wines valued at $13 a piece. Keep in mind that they can’t deliver to all states and you must show your ID when it is delivered which can be tricky if you aren’t home for delivery.
Love with Food
Love with Food is a healthy and organic snack box that starts at only $10 a month. This is my kind of gift because it is fun and relatively inexpensive. What makes it even better is that for every box ordered they give a meal to a child in need. I love the idea.
Tea Sparrow is the tea equivalent of MistoBox in every way including price. These boxes include 4 premium loose teas from all over the world for $20 a month (free shipping). You can subscribe for yourself or select for a friend.
Craft Beer Club
The Original Craft Beer Club sends you 12 craft beers for $39 a month (shipping included). They offer free gifts and special pricing for multiple month orders. Each shipment includes 4 styles of beer with 3 of each type. Right now they are offering $5 off your first shipment when you schedule an ongoing subscription (or gift) of 3 or more months.
Loot Crate is the box for the gamer/ geek in your life. Each box contains over $40 worth of comic, gaming and geek loot for only $13.95 a month and gets cheaper if you order 3 or more months. Use the code Save3 to save $3 on the December crate.
Birchbox is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of subscription boxes. I’m not sure if they were the first, but they were definitely the first I had ever heard of. To me, Birchbox will always be THE subscription box. I’m not a subscriber and probably won’t ever be, but I know many women who swear by their samples of beauty products each month. The best part is that they are only $10 a month! They also have men’s boxes now. Check out Irene’s post about her favorite subscription boxes, she has a lot more experience with the beauty boxes than I do!
Papirmass looks like a fun gift for the art lover in your life. For only $69 a year they will send a print every month that could include cards, a small book, a paper sculpture or even a full size poster. I’m really intrigued by this because it seems like a fun way to decorate your house on a budget.
I love to give and receive magazine subscriptions for Christmas. This time of year you can find tons of deals on gift subscriptions, especially when you renew your own subscriptions. Not time to renew? Contact your favorite magazine to renew early and take advantage of the holiday deals.
