I can’t believe spring break is coming to an end. We’ve had a great week. It’s been so much fun that I’m not really looking forward to Robert heading back to preschool next week. I sure have enjoyed having my little buddy with me all week even though I was tired of being with the kids so much while Tom was in India.
Being a parent is funny like that isn’t it? There is a fine line between too much time with them and not enough. When it comes down to it, I really can’t get enough time with my sweet kiddos. Here are some of my favorite things we did this week.
Family vacation to Alabama
The boys and I flew to Mobile, Alabama to spend some time in Spanish Fort with my dad, stepmom, and grandmother. It was so much fun. Even the flights went well!
While we were there we did a lot of exploring the area. We went on a pirate cruise and had a blast with GrandBob and Nana.
The boys looked so cute in their pirate get ups.
I had fun watching the boys enjoy themselves with their grandparents.
We also got the chance to walk around my hometown of Fairhope. We started with hot chocolate from Mr. Gene’s Beans, my all time favorite coffee spot.
Then we walked to Fantasy Island Toys where Robert played with everything!
Then we walked around to Page & Palette, the local book store. The boys loved sitting down to take a reading break.
We ended the afternoon with a visit to the bay where we fed the ducks and seagulls.
It’s always sad leaving my family and coming back to Naples. It doesn’t matter how beautiful it is here in Naples, I’ll always be homesick for sweet home Alabama.
Reunited with Tom after his trip to India
Tom arrived home from India while we were in Alabama. He was able to catch up on some much needed sleep and work before having to spend quality time with us. It was so nice to see him when he picked us up at the airport. The boys and I really missed him. I also really loved getting my presents from India!
I’m sure most people wouldn’t consider a sick day to be fun, but I really enjoyed cuddling my babies in bed all day yesterday while they had a cough and runny noses. We watched Trolls, read lots of books, and drank hot chocolate. This guy loved laying around all day.
It also happened to be the coldest day of the year here so it was a great day to cuddle.
My sister, Tori, has been telling me about the benefits of alkaline water for the last year. As much as I’ve wanted to try it, I’ve never been able to find a brand that was reasonably priced. Then I was asked to try Alkalife TEN Water. When I found it at Publix, I couldn’t believe how reasonably priced they were.
Publix had a great deal on them when I found them. I was able to pick up 3 one liter bottles for $5, which is a great deal for bottled water!
Here’s some info about TEN spring water by Alkalife: it’s water with a pH level of 10 (the highest of any bottled water brand) and offers an optimal combination of alkaline minerals rich with electrolytes, sourced from natural springs. Most bottled water, including other alkaline and electrolyte water, is sourced from municipal sources (filtered tap water) or limestone aquifers which can deliver non-absorbable calcium.
If you can’t find it at a Publix near you, try Amazon Prime.
I’ve been suffering from pretty bad morning sickness which has made me worried about getting all my nutrients. I’m eating salad, fruits, and vegetables, but mostly throwing them up. The only thing I can keep down successfully is carbs and chocolate, not necessarily the healthiest foods for a developing baby, right?
That’s why I’m so glad I found Mother Nuture this week.
Now I don’t feel so guilty when I have a little chocolate as an afternoon pick me up. This one kept me going yesterday while the boys were sick.
I have a couple discount codes and a promotion to share with you this week:
Both deals are going on until 5/1/17. Click here to get them!
What are some of your favorite things of the week? I’d love to hear it!
