Don’t forget about the reindeer when you set out milk and cookies for Santa! Make some reindeer food for Rudolph and his friends.
Reindeer food is so simple to make!
We make reindeer food every Christmas Eve. It’s such a simple and fun little craft to do with the kids.
In fact, it’s so fun and easy that it makes a great party favor for a Christmas party or a fun little gift to give to classmates.
How to make reindeer food
All you do is combine oatmeal with red glitter.
The glitter is so the reindeer will see the sparkle from the sky and know to land at your house.
Instructions for making reindeer food for Santa’s reindeer:
- You need 1 C. of oatmeal
- 1/4 tbsp of red glitter
- combine the two
Eco-Friendly reindeer food
If you want a more eco-friendly option, substitute red sprinkles or cranberries for the glitter. You can also find biodegradable glitter if you’re a die hard glitter fan and an environmentalist.
I love this little saying:
“Sprinkle on the lawn at night. The moon will make it sparkle bright. As Santa’s reindeer fly and roam, this will lead them to your home.”
Download the printable here.
The PDF will print two. Cut on the dotted line, then fold over and staple onto a plastic bag filled with reindeer food.
