I’ve never been the girl with the perfect skin, unless you count the years before I hit puberty. I definitely had perfect skin then. Those year don’t count though. Everyone has those perfect baby faced years!
Ever since puberty, I have battled skin problems. While they’ve never been awful, they weren’t easy either. Zits are zits. They suck no matter how many you have. At one point I was about to give up and accept that fact that I was still battling acne as a thirty year old.
Everything changed once I had a consultation with Analise from Complexion Concierge (no, this is not a sponsored post- I honestly am still happy with my skin, so many months later. She doesn’t even know I’m writing this!). Not only did she give me some awesome skin care tips, she gave me a list of products that would work well for me and my budget. I’ve been using some of her suggestions for about 8 months now and I’m still seeing fabulous results. Since I feel so happy with my results, I thought I’d share my favorite frugal skin care finds (some of these are Amazon affiliate links). I love that I’ve finally been able to achieve almost perfect skin without spending a fortune. These skin care products give you the most bang for your buck. There is no need to buy pricey products when these work just as well, if not better!
[bctt tweet=”There is no need to buy pricey beauty products when these work just as well, if not better! #frugalfinds”]pHisoderm Sensitive Skin Cleanser 6oz. 1 Bottle– $7.53 A simple face wash that doesn’t have any extra ingredients. I love how it doesn’t make my face feel dry.
Konjac Facial Sponge– $11.99 for 2. This was not suggested by Analise, she suggested using a plain old wash cloth. This sponge is way better than a washcloth. Think of it as a poor woman’s Clarisonic. I actually got this one for free for a blog review and I loved it so much that I’ve continued to order it. I’ve even gotten Tom on the bandwagon. This is the best way to exfoliate your face.
Derma e Soothing Toner – $11.72 My face feels sad and dry without it.
Coola spf 30 Cucumber Face Moisturizing Sunscreen 1.7 oz– $20.46 This is my splurge. I can’t believe I spend so much on sunscreen. However, I use it as a day time moisturizer as well, so it does double duty, saving me money on a daytime moisturizer.
Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Smoothing Scrub– $13.00 I do this scrub once a week.
Trader Joe’s Vitamin Oil E, 4 Ounce– $2.99 This is the best eye makeup remover you’ll ever use. It’s gentle and helps reduce fine lines.
Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Cleansing Wash 5 fl oz (150 ml) $10.99 I’ve gone back and forth between this and the pHisoderm. I like both equally, this one smells better though!
Lumene Sensitive Touch Gentle Cleansing Wipes, 25 Count– $7.95 I use these at night when I’m too tired to wash my face. It even takes care of eye makeup removal.
Alpha Hydrox Intensive Serum 14 Percent Glycolic AHA– $14.24 Sadly, I’m not using this yet. I’m still breastfeeding and this is not suggested yet. I can’t wait to use it for my wrinkles once I wean. FYI- this is supposed to be pretty similar to Retin-A (Mom- you should do this instead, way cheaper!).
CeraVe Moisturizing Facial Lotion PM– $7.74 A great night time moisturizer.
Eucerin Daily Replenishing Moisturizing Lotion– $6.39 I use this sparingly. Mostly I use olive oil on my skin, however some nights I like using this instead. My sons’ also use this when they have eczema patches.
Aveeno Body Wash– $3.79 Lavender. Enough said.
eBody Spa Collection Face Cleansing Mitt- $14.99 Such a great way to clean your face without soap. This is what I keep in the bathtub for a quick scrub.
EVER skincare Smooth Lip Treatment- $26 I actually haven’t had a chance to use this yet, but I can’t wait! One of you will get a chance to try it out too!
I have a skincare gift set giveaway for one lucky reader. It includes the Smooth Lip Treatment from Ever skincare and an eBody Spa Collection Face Cleaning Mitt (a $41 value!). Here is some information about the products.
My friend, Shannon, is providing the giveaway from EVER skincare. The entire line is clinical grade, botanically derived skincare from the Stella & Dot family of brands. It was created by dermatologist Christin Powell, who created the line at Juice Beauty and was head of research at Perricone MD. The regimen has no sulfates, parabens, synthetic colors/fragrances, synthetic sunscreen, or hydroquinone. If it was edible, the FDA could give it an Organic label. The products have a 45 day, empty bottle money-back guarantee, and there is an amazing customer loyalty program and referral program that does not require you to buy into! Check out the website for before and after results pictures.
The eBody Spa Face Cleaning Mitt is so cool! I was sent one to try out and review. You don’t even need soap to clean your face. This is perfect for people with extremely sensitive skin that don’t want to use harmful chemicals. I love using mine in the morning, and then using something for exfoliation at night. Check out their website, Facebook page, Twitter account, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube channel for more info!

I’m not very good about taking good care of my face, but I do use moisturizer every day. I like both cetaphil and cera ve.
I love neutrogena eye make up remover lotion. I’m not a fan of oils aroun my eyes because I feel like I can’t get all of it washed away. It’s great.
I actually haven’t tried any of these which is super exciting because I love trying new skincare! These are definitely going on my shopping list!
My favorite thing to remove makeup is Ponds Cold Cream. It works wonders! I have very dry skin and this helps with removing makeup and moisturizing.. You could even slather it on your face and leave it for about 10 minutes for some added moisture. I also LOVE Lush Cosmetics face masks they’re amazing and only about $7 :)
I will have to try Lush Cosmetics! Thanks for the tip!
Love the mint julep scrub & mask both are cheap & wonderful
Thanks for sharing these with us. I absolutely want to try a konjac sponge & the lavender body wash from Aveeno.
Have a great week!
You’ll love the konjac sponge!
