Having made my own laundry detergent on and off for the last 8 years, I’ve tried a lot of different recipes. I’ve tried liquid homemade laundry detergent and powders in an effort to figure out which one is the best. 

What I’ve found is that pretty much all of the ones I’ve made have worked. When it comes to figuring out the best homemade laundry detergent it really depends on how you want to make it. That is why I put together this list of the 5 best DIY laundry detergents.

What Supplies do I need to make my own laundry detergent?

Each recipe below is different, but here are some common homemade DIY laundry soap supplies. It may seem like a lot of stuff to buy, but it doesn’t take much of each ingredient to make a large batch of DIY detergent. Buy these supplies and you’ll have enough to make laundry detergent for years!
