Three years ago today, Tom and I got married.
We are very excited to be celebrating our anniversary today. As you can imagine we do not want to spend a lot of money to celebrate our love for each other. One of the greatest things about our relationship is that we are open and honest about everything, especially money. We are both super frugal and enjoy saving money, so no better way to celebrate than to use some of our budget friendly methods to make an amazing date night.
Yesterday I went out to Mazzaro’s, an Italian market and I bought this bottle of Syrah on sale for $6.99.
I was cutting up strawberries to freeze them for smoothies and I gave Tom a couple to snack on. He suggested we use the Smucker’s Magic Shell chocolate to see if it would harden on the strawberries. So I dumped the contents into a bowl and got to dipping strawberries!
Traditionally these would be for after dinner, but I think these will be an after work snack as we wait until 7:30 for our dinner reservation! Yes, the super frugal people will be going out to eat. Last June I found a Restaurant.com coupon for Armani’s, a fancy Italian restaurant in Tampa.
I bought this gift certificate for $2 and it is worth $50. The catch is that our bill has to be above $100 to use the $50 off, but I am sure we won’t have a problem getting our bill to $100 and then we will only pay $52 for $100 worth of food! Sometimes these exclude alcohol, but this one will let you apply drink prices to the total, which will help us spend $100.
So, this is how we will spend our anniversary. With the price of wine and strawberries this date will come out to around $65, not bad! I think Tom used to spend more money on my when he was dating me!
