It’s no secret that this year I’m trying to make back to school season as easy as possible. That’s why I’m super excited about these waffled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. This is a fun new spin on the PB&J sandwich that kids will love taking to school this year.
I’m going simple with back to school lunch ideas because Baby Max is due the same week that my boys start school. Realistically I’m not going to have much time to do anything, but I still want to make the first couple days of school fun for the kids. With this waffled peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I know the kids will enjoy the novelty of something different to help power their day.
Robert even likes helping me make them, which is always fun!
How to Make a Waffled PB&J:
Step 1: Make a regular PB&J while the waffle iron heats up.
Step 2: Place your sandwich in the waffle iron until it beeps that it is ready.
Step 3: Let cool, then cut and pack away for lunch.
We’ve been using Smucker’s Strawberry Jam and Jif Peanut Butter for the perfect lunch combination. It’s even better when paired with some fresh fruit on the side.
Right now you can save $1.00 on Jif and Smucker’s Fruit Spread when you buy 1 Jif Peanut Butter and 1 Smucker’s fruit spread at Dollar General. Offer ends 8/20. I picked up the ingredients at Dollar General and was amazed at the prices. It’s already nearly $1 cheaper than other stores in our area. You know I love saving money like that!

Such a great idea! My kids would love this. #client
Do you butter it like grilled cheese first?
No, I didn’t because my waffle iron is non-stick anyway. I definitely would try buttering it if you don’t have a non-stick iron!
