Some houseguests are better than others. Right after my family left on Sunday, Tom and I hosted the best houseguests ever. Carolyn and Cas have to be two of my favorite people ever. When I think of good people, I think of them.
Note to my family: you’re good guests too, but Carolyn and Cas are much neater!
After hosting my family for a week, I couldn’t put any more effort into hosting. I’m still catching up on laundry and cleaning as I write this. Luckily, Carolyn and Cas are the type of guests that earn their keep. Normally, I’d be appalled by guests offering to cook or chip in on groceries, but after hosting for the holidays, I was overjoyed when they offered.
They put together this delicious chorizo spaghetti squash casserole for us on Monday night. The recipe is from another blogger, Mellissa from I Breathe, I’m Hungry. Check out the recipe on her blog!
We were together for 2 days, and somehow only managed to get one picture of me and Carolyn. Of course it’s one where I have no make up on and haven’t even brushed my teeth. Oh, and I’m also still in my pajamas. Sorry guys.
Because Carolyn and Cas were such awesome house guests, I’m going to be able to use some of the food I’d bought this week for next week. They even replenished the beer that we all drank. I hope that keeps my budget down next week.
Every Wednesday I share what I’ve spent throughout the week. Here is how I did this week.
Publix- $170 I spent more than I would have regularly but we were out of everything after hosting my family for a week. I also bought enough food for a potluck meal for New Year’s Day. I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to budget for the new year. I’ve got to get back to under $125 each week.
How did you do this week? Over or under budget? I’d love to hear!
Wow this looks really really appetizing! Will definitely check out Mellissa’s blog for the recipe! Thanks for sharing Hannah!
It was so good! I hope you get a chance to try it.
