What if I told you there was a way to give back to your community this holiday season while also buying diapers for your own little one? It sounds too good to be true, right? Huggies has teamed up with Dollar General to provide families with diapers this holiday season through donations to the National Diaper Bank Network. It’s pretty awesome to know that I’m helping a family while buying Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers for little Max.
I can’t tell you enough how happy programs like this make me. Like many of you, I struggle to find cost effective ways to donate to the needy this time of year when our budget is already stretched to the max. It’s not only Christmas that’s stretching our budget this year, we are still paying off Max’s hospital bills from his birth. Turns out that inductions aren’t cheap!
It’s so cool to see that Huggies and Dollar General care about helping families in need this holiday season. Here is how they are helping: for every pack of Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers purchased at Dollar General through December 31, 2017, Huggies will donate a days worth of diapers (up to 500,000) and Dollar General will donate $1 (up to $5,000) to the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) as part of the Huggies No Baby Unhugged program. Doesn’t that just warm your heart?
You may be wondering how they decide who is in need of diapers. I know I was. “Diaper need” is defined as the struggle to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry and healthy. You can read more about it in this study that the National Diaper Bank Network and Huggies did: Diaper Need and Its Impact on U.S. Families. It revealed that one-in-three U.S. families (36%) struggle with diaper need.
Huggies has provided over 200 million diapers and wipes since 2011 after becoming the founding sponsor of the National Diaper Bank Network. The really cool thing is that they send a lot of those donations to national disaster areas during times of crisis. As a mom who had a baby right before Hurricane Irma, you have no idea how much this impresses me!
We were lucky to get out of Naples during Hurricane Irma, but I know that there was a diaper shortage since delivery trucks weren’t coming into the area. I would have been so stressed about diapers!
Make sure to head into The Dollar General this holiday season to buy your Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers to help a keep another baby snug & dry!
