I love this question. Can you really make money with direct sales? Seems like the answer depends on how much you put into it. Some people make their complete living off of it while others only use it to supply their own products for less.
Last year I did a series on direct sales. I had 5 women share their stories selling products directly (think Avon and Mary Kay). It seems like direct sales are huge these days. Almost everyone I know either sells a product directly or buys these products.
I’ve always been interested in direct sales. For some reason the concept intrigues me. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a product or company that I would be interested selling. For that reason, I don’t sell, but I certainly buy! I always try to support my friends who work in direct sales because I want to support them.
All of this buying from my friends made me wonder if they were actually making money. I decided to ask them! Those questions sparked my Direct Sales Series. Response to last year’s series was so great that I decided to do it again this year.
I have a mix of new sellers and products mixed in with updates from last year. In case you missed it here are the 5 stories I featured in last year’s series:
The general consensus last year was that most people don’t make a living off of direct sales, although a few people do. You have to love what you sell in order to stick with it. If you find a direct sales program that you keep spending money on, chances are you’ll save money on your own products if you sell the products too. I loved hearing the stories from each woman last year and I can’t wait to share the new ones this year.
If you sell something through direct sales and want to join the series, please contact me! I’d love to add more stories to this series.
Do you like direct sales programs? What are your favorites? I’m always interested in what other people buy!
