Did you know that May the fourth is Star Wars Day? Get it? May the Fourth be with you! There are so many fun and inexpensive ways to celebrate Star Wars Day. Here are some of my favorite ways that we have celebrate May the Fourth.

Oh, and don’t forget about the day after Star Wars Day! It’s a big week for parties with Cinco de Mayo right after May the Fourth. Get some fun recipe inspiration here.

Celebrate Star Wars on a Budget

A budget friendly Star Wars Day activity

Our first born is a Star Wars baby. That’s right, he was born on May the Fourth. For that reason, I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Star Wars and May the Fourth be with you parties.

Robert’s 4th birthday party was a Jedi Training play date complete with pool noodle lightsabers and water gun blasters.

For less than $10 at The Dollar Tree I was able to host a few of Robert’s favorite friends over for an lightsaber and blaster fighting. What could be more fun than an excuse to run around and roughhouse with pool noodles and water guns?

How to make your own pool noodle lightsabers for Star Wars Day

Make your own lightsabers with pool noodles, duct tape, and electrical tape also from Dollar Tree.

Pool Noodle Light Saber for less than $1

I cut each noodle in half with scissors then added the tape. It couldn’t be easier.

How to make your own lightsabers from pool noodles:

  1. Cut each pool noodle in half
  2. Wrap the bottom quarter of the noodle in silver duct tape
  3. Use electrical tape to add definition to the silver part of the light saber
  4. Use a red Sharpie to add an on and off “button”

Get some water guns and call them “blasters”. Print out Darth Vader and Stormtrooper images, laminate them and voila, you have target practice set up for your little ones.
