Looking for a fun way to celebrate Mardi Gras with the kids? Make these fun Mardi Gras cookies!
First things first, let me clarify that this tastes nothing like king cake. It’s just another fun way to celebrate Mardi Gras. Now that we no longer live in a region that celebrates Mardi Gras, I’m always looking for inexpensive ways to celebrate.
Growing up I could pick up a reasonably priced king cake at the grocery store that actually tasted good. Now we have to specially order a $50 king cake from New Orleans. At that price I can’t afford to eat king cake often. That’s why I’ve had to get creative and come up with different ways to celebrate. Hence the Mardi Gras cookies.
It’s simple. All you do is place cookie dough (refrigerated in my case) in a circle and bake as directed. Add purple, green and yellow sprinkles and you’re finished. A few beads complete the look.
Couldn’t be simpler, right?
Want to bake your own king cake instead of cookies? Check out this mix from Amazon.
What is your favorite way to celebrate Mardi Gras? Our king cake will be here on Valentine’s Day! I can’t wait.
This is WAY too cute! I love the idea!!
Thanks! We really do love Mardi Gras over here!
