Why weekday getaway?
I’m a big fan of traveling at the right time to get the best value. Daytona Beach is fun any time of the year and any day of the week, but when you go on the weekday it’s possible to get better prices on hotels.
I’ve visited Daytona Beach several times and I’ve always been shocked by the reasonably priced beach front hotels. Go during the weekday and you will get a steal of a deal!
Visiting during the weekday is also fun because you beat the local crowds. The area is still hopping and alive with visitors, but it won’t feel packed on the beach.

More Affordable Fun
My most recent visit to Daytona Beach was with my kids and 2 of my siblings. We had a blast checking out all that Daytona Beach has to offer. Here were are favorite activities:
THE MARINE SCIENCE CENTER
We had a blast at the Marine Science Center. Adults 13 and over are $5, kids are $2, and babies 2 and under are free. The educators are full of life and love talking to the kids. All sorts of the activities are hands on!
Kids can touch and feed sting rays, feed wild birds, touch a snake, and learn about the sea turtle hospital. They can even watch the staff feed the octopus!
You can pet and even feed the sting rays!
PONCE INLET LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM
The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse Museum is only a quick walk away from the Marine Science Center. We couldn’t get over the prices. Adults, 12 and over, are only $6.95 and kids 11 and under are $1.95! Kids two and under are free.
The grounds are beautiful! One thing you should know though is that you can’t bring water onto the grounds. Leave those water bottles in the car!
It’s definitely a must to climb to the top of the lighthouse. It’s a long climb, but even my 3 year old could handle it.
The view from the top is worth it. Isn’t this gorgeous?
Racing
The Daytona International Speedway is a Daytona Beach landmark that is open to the public every day! Stop by anytime between 9 and 5 to play games, get a bite to eat, and check out a view of the track.
