Direct Sales Series Part 1: Erin’s AdvoCare Story + Spark canister giveaway!

Have you ever wondered why some people seem so happy selling directly as independent consultants?  We probably all grew up knowing someone who sold Mary Kay, Avon, or Tupperware.  Today’s direct sales companies are much more diverse and oh so much more fun.

Some of my favorite products are sold through direct sales.  You all know about my obsession with DoTerra products because of my essential oils posts.  I’m also a huge fan of Stella and Dot, Thirty One bags, and a few others.  My cousin just recently started with a new one that I haven’t tried yet, Initial Outfitters.  I can’t wait to pick out some gifts for my little sisters.

I’ve always been happy with these types of products and parties, but I’ve never considered selling these items myself.  I’m not going to lie, I’ve always rolled my eyes and mumbled, “pyramid scheme”, under my breath.  I’ve honestly always thought these types of companies were out to steal the consultants money.  That is, until I saw a Facebook post from my friend, Erin.  She posted this a few weeks ago and I immediately knew that I wanted to explore direct sales as a way to make an extra income as a blog topic.

Erin's AdvoCare Story

Can you believe it?  She has paid for her own AdvoCare experience as well as made enough extra money to pay off $9,000 in debt!

Erin’s posts and this Forbes article inspired me to do a 3 part series on how direct sales can supplement an income.  Check out Erin’s story!

Erin’s AdvoCare Story

Erin's AdvoCare Story

My name is Erin Ragsdale.  I am a 31 year old high school social studies teacher at an urban school in south Louisiana as well as a graduate student at Louisiana State University.  I am also a woman who has suffered with weight issues my entire life. My weight went up and down repeatedly until I reached the highest weight of my life in November of 2012.  I sobbed on the scale as I saw that I weighed 440 pounds.  I immediately went to the doctor to be treated for severe sleep apnea, and she suggested gastric bypass.  I said, I gained this weight on my own, and I am going to lose this weight on my own.  In January of 2013 I began my journey.  I lost 30 pounds on my own before I found AdvoCare.  I was leaving the doctor’s office in March of 2013.  My doctor said even though I had lost 30 pounds on my own, surgery needed to be my next step.  An awesome friend Introduced me to AdvoCare and all its opportunities at that point.  I started with the 24 day challenge.    During my first challenge I lost 15 pounds and 25″ around my body.  Then something else happened.  People wanted to know what I was doing.  I made the best financial decision I could and became a Distributor for AdvoCare. Since making that choice I have helped over 100 people reach their goals through my team, and I personally have paid off almost $10,000 in debt in the past year with the money I have made with AdvoCare.  Not only am I armed with the finest products to help me reach my health goals, I am paying off debt and making money in the process.  I would love to help anyone and everyone that I can.  Coaching others has been a huge part of my motivation through this process.   To date I have lost 120 pounds, and I have lost 16 inches off my waist alone.  Let me help you achieve your goals!

Here is Erin’s contact info.  If you are interested in AdvoCare, please order through her.  She will go above and beyond to help you.
