Happy Friday the 13th! Anyone watching Friday the 13th tonight? Maybe we should start that tradition. Anyway, it’s time for another Food Waste Friday!

Here is how we did this week:
1. Cheese, cheese and more cheese
I still have tons of cheese left over from my Arlo Dofino House Party. I’ve been putting it on everything. I was able to make this nice little snack with a leftover tomato. Cheese makes repurposing leftovers a whole lot more fun!
Unfortunately I did have to throw out one slice of tomato because there was mold on it. Whoops. I probably should have thrown out the whole tomato but it smelled fine and really wasn’t that old. I threw out the slice on the right.
2. Threw out bleu cheese dressing
I made 4 ounces of homemade dressing last week for the House Party and decided to toss it after I had it for a week. I only had about 2 ounces left so it wasn’t a huge waste. I don’t want to risk food born illnesses while pregnant. No worries, the cheese was pasteurized and pregnancy safe!
3. More smoothies
We’ve been doing at least one smoothie a week to use up those fresh strawberries and blueberries. Lately, Robert has been into eating half a banana which means the other half goes into the freezer for our next smoothie. I like this habit of leftover greens and fruits in our smoothies. It’s definitely my favorite way to use up produce that is going bad.
How did you do this week? Feel free to leave a comment or link up with The Frugal Girl or Simply Being Mum.
Having a ton of cheese left over sounds like a nice challenge. I am like, I can put cheese on anything. That snack looks delish! I am refusing to food shop again until we get through everything in our fridge. I have been going a bit overboard, I blame it on the hormones.
Ooo I love cheese so much.
Smoothies make me happy too.
