Don’t ever buy holiday decor at full price! Check out these tips to get holiday decor at rock bottom prices!
It’s no secret that I love holiday decor.
I hate everyday knick knacks, but give me a ceramic jack-o-lantern and I’ll find a place for it my home for the month of October.
While I love all holiday decor, I hate buying them full price. To me, it’s one of the biggest retail scams. Holiday decor is full-price for one month, maybe two, out of the year, then it is 25-90% off for the weeks following the holiday.
You might think that my secret for scoring holiday decor at rock bottom prices is to buy right after the holiday. You’re right, but I have an even better secret.
Think beyond the sale for one particular holiday, and buy decor that could work for other holidays.
Here are a couple good examples:
See the white square in the middle? It’s not holiday specific at all, you could use it for all sorts of things around the house.
These “blood red” Halloween chargers are great for October, but are even better for Valentine’s day.
After Christmas is my favorite time to stock up on holiday decor. The reason? Lots of holiday colors are used during the December holidays.
Green can be used again for St. Patrick’s Day.
Red can be used for Valentine’s Day.
Blue (from Hanukkah) and Red can be used for all the patriotic holidays.
I bought these glass mason jars for 80 cents each last year after Christmas and they’ve worked for all sorts of holidays.
The red ones were perfect for my Valentine’s Day posts earlier this year.
And the green was fun for the Super Bowl Coke floats.
It’s taken me years to gather all my holiday decor, but it’s been worth it. Nothing makes me more mad than finding something I bought at full price on sale days later.
