Girls Night Out at Board & Brush Creative Studio in Naples

I recently met up with a few girlfriends to check out Board & Brush Creative Studio in Naples, FL. The experience completely exceeded my expectations. Y’all know just how frugal I can be, so when I saw that each board cost $65, I was a little taken back. Girls night can be super cheap if you sit around and drink wine at home, did we really need to spend so much money to make a wooden sign?

The answer is yes! These signs are beautiful and the experience of making your own is well worth the price. I’m already trying to figure out when I can go back and make another one!

Some of the signs you can make at Board and Brush Creative studio

Here are all the reasons why I loved it and can’t wait to go back.

Fair prices

Even though I started out thinking that $65 was too much, I ended up changing my tune by the end of the night. The supplies, the guidance, and the entire experience were well worth the price. You can bring your own drinks and snacks too.

Pro Tip: not all workshops are $65. If you check the calendar you can find some for mini boards for $20-35. This is a great way to check it out without spending too much money!

I’ve done all the crafty activities before: pottery painting, painting canvases, painting wine glasses, etc. Even though I’ve always had fun making crafts with my friends, I’ve rarely made anything that I wanted to claim. Not to mention that I never really felt like I got a good bang for my buck. Seriously, how do pottery paining places get away with charging $15 for a coffee mug that I could buy for $1 at the craft store?

Board & Brush is different. The sign I brought home looks like it was made by a professional. It also costs the exact same amount as if I’d bought it personalized online.

For $65, you get the experience of making your own sign as well as spending time with friends. I don’t think I could have had drinks and seen a movie in Naples during a girls night for much less than $65! I certainly couldn’t have paid for dinner, drinks, and a movie.

Pro Tip: Check the calendar of events for special events. Our local Board & Brush in Naples served free beer on St. Patrick’s Day and will be doing margaritas for a Cinco de Mayo event.

The experience

The experience of making your own wooden sign is so exciting. I didn’t think I’d get into it, but I enjoyed working with the wood.

The entire process takes about 3 hours. You get to control every aspect of the creative process from picking out your sign before hand to picking your paint colors.

Locally owned

Each Board & Brush Creative Studio is locally owned. It’s a franchise that is all over the United States. The one in Naples is owned by the same family that owns the one in Fort Myers. I really love supporting our local economy. It makes me happy to know that a family here in Southwest Florida is making the world a happier place one farmhouse sign at a time!

The finished product

I feel happy every time I look at the board that I made. I have a sense of pride that I made something so cool that is hanging up in our house. I also love looking at it because it brings back memories of a fun night with my girlfriends.
