Cook up a special Valentine’s Day recipe and make these heart-shaped waffles made with Funfetti cake batter. I did this for my family last year and can’t wait to make it again. It’s a fun tradition that I hope will stick for years to come.

For these waffles I made the cake batter according to the boxed directions, then put them in the waffle maker until my waffle iron beeped.

It was that easy. In fact, I shouldn’t even call this a recipe because I’m not offering you one. All I’m telling you to do is buy boxed cake mix and add it to a waffle iron. This is too simple not to try.

Robert had a blast cutting them into hearts with the cookie cutters. No heart shaped waffle iron needed!

You can’t see the sprinkles in the batter too well from up top, but a side view shows them much better.

Confession, I may have eaten these for all 3 of my meals. Can’t stop, won’t stop, right?

Throw some strawberries on there and call it a day.

Seriously, could this get any easier?

If you are really lazy, you could even get some frozen waffles and a heart cookie cutter and go to town. I’m not judging anyone who doesn’t want to use a waffle iron! I’m all for life hacks.

What is your favorite food for Valentine’s Day?
