It doesn’t seem possible to host a stress free preschooler painting party, does it? Just the idea of preschoolers with wet paint in the house sends shivers down my spine, yet I continue to invite tiny humans into my house to do just that. Luckily, after doing this several times, I have a few tricks up my sleeves to help you host your own preschooler painting party.
WaterWipes sponsored a play date where my friends with preschoolers were able to check out the wipes. Each guest was able to take home their own package. We used them for every aspect of the party from keeping hands clean during painting to wiping little baby bums.
Here are my tips and tricks for hosting a stress free painting party:
- Always line the table with butcher paper or packing paper. This makes clean up super easy!
- Keep WaterWipes nearby to keep hands clean.
- Line your floor with an old sheet.
- Use kid friendly, washable paint.
- Have plenty of supplies ready. Kids go through paintbrushes and water really fast!
- Designate one parent to watch the table at all times.
- Enjoy and don’t stress when a little paint gets on the floor or the walls. I’m gonna be honest, this will probably happen. That’s why you should choose washable paint!
Setting up the table with lots of paints is always fun for me. I love putting out all sorts of arts and crafts for the kids to explore. The paper on the table is great for drawing too!
I’m always amazed with how much kiddos love painting. Some of the rowdiest kids calm down and concentrate when paint is involved. There must be something calming about the motion of brush strokes.
If several kids in your house is too much for you, consider painting with your preschooler one on one. We do this a lot in our house, especially during dinner prep. I can set up the paints at the kitchen table and the kids entertain themselves while I make dinner. It beats TV time any day!
One of the main reasons I love WaterWipes so much is because they are perfect for everything! It’s great to have a wipe option that I don’t mind using all over the body, even for the mouth. I’ve mentioned before that my kids have sensitive skin, so I’m always looking out for chemical free baby supplies like this that are actually durable. I absolutely love that WaterWipes contains only two ingredients, 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract.
I’ve been using WaterWipes for everything, not just for painting!
What are your favorite tips for painting with kids? Did I miss anything?
This looks like so much fun! My daughter would absolutely love this party. I have to admit that I’m very afraid of paint messes, but your tips make it a lot less scary. Maybe I’ll be brave and have a painting activity at her birthday party this weekend.
You should try! It’s pretty scary at first, but once you realize that it all washes off, the stress melts away!
So much fun! And great tip to do painting while cooking dinner. I bet that would work with my boys!
You’ll have to let me know if they enjoy it!
