You can never have too many tips for keeping your New Year’s resolutions, right? Have you had time to sit down and brainstorm yours yet? If not, head here to learn my method for setting financial goals. Yes, it’s focused on finances, but you can use this method for all resolutions.
How to set attainable resolutions
Did you know that 25% of people don’t even last a week on their resolutions? It’s crazy to think that! I’ve always loved setting resolutions, and sticking to them. I have three really simple tips that help me each year.
Write attainable goals that you actually want to achieve.
There are two important words here: attainable and want. Don’t set a goal that you can’t achieve. Also, don’t set a goal that you don’t want to achieve. If you do either of those, it will be impossible to stick to them.[bctt tweet=”Resolutions tip: set attainable goals you want to achieve. #2017″]
Have a visual reminder of your resolutions.
You can do this in so many ways. You can print my pretty printable and place it on your desk. Or you can buy or make something pretty to put around your house to remind you of your resolutions. I got this beautiful plant last year to remind me of my resolutions, and it worked!
Check in on your resolutions periodically.
I like to revisit my resolutions every 3 months. I’m a list person who loves crossing things off my list. I even updated my readers on my resolutions from last year. Here is my original resolution list, and here is the mid year update.
Do you want to print out a sheet of your own resolutions? Here is a link to the printable PDF version of the worksheet below. I even added the flowers at the top to make it a pretty floral reminder if my Christmas cactus dies. I’m hoping it doesn’t die though!
