Why Would Someone Need a Stainless Steel Vitamix Container?
Before I delve into the pros and cons of a Vitamix stainless steel container, let me explore why someone might need one. I’m a big believer in only buying what you need so this is important to me!

One might need a stainless stain Vitamix container if making blends in advance that need to stay insulated. Like most stainless steel containers, this one keeps warm items warm and cold items cold. I find this to be very helpful if I’m making smoothies for kids who are coming in and out of the house at different times of the day.
Another reason you might be interested in a Vitamix stainless steel container is if you are avoiding plastic. Stainless steel is durable and doesn’t stain like plastic. It’s most certainly likely to last much longer than a plastic Vitamix pitcher.

The Biggest Pro of the Stainless Steel Vitamix Container is that it is Dishwasher Safe!
Yes, you read that right, the stainless steel Vitamix container is dishwasher safe. One of the most commonly asked question on the internet is, “Is a Vitamix dishwasher safe?” I’m so happy to report that yes, the stainless steel Vitamix container is dishwasher safe.
Vitamix officially states that the stainless steel Vitamix container is dishwasher safe. Almost all the other plastic Vitamix containers are not safe for the dishwasher. While I don’t mind hand washing my Vitamix containers, it is pretty nice to have the option to pop the stainless steel container in the dishwasher if needed.

After using the stainless steel Vitamix container for a few months I can honestly say that it is worth the $199.95 price tag.
That is, and only is, if you have a need to keep your blends insulated for an extended period of time or if you find yourself blending in advance. This is also a great option if you are making an effort to reduce plastic.
If you don’t need to keep things insulated and you are on a tight budget, I’d suggest sticking with a reconditioned Explorian series. You can learn more about my love for this particular Vitamix blender here.
