Time for another edition of Food Waste Friday I’ve been environmentally conscious about food waste since I was in college and this is a great way for me to keep tabs on what we waste in our house. Every Friday I blog about the food we wasted. Learn more about ways to decrease food waste in this post and this post.
Sometimes I’m motivated enough to share a recipe. Today is not one of those days.
I’m still recovering from vacation. Because of that, we are living off of leftovers, rotisserie chicken, and bagged salads. My idea of a home cooked meal this week was tossing frozen meatballs in a crockpot with a little sesame oil and sweet chili sauce. I’m hoping to get back into the groove of meal planning next week.
Here is what we wasted this week + one save. Can you tell which food was devoured instead of tossed?
Tom went to a happy hour event at work and brought home the leftover fries. I put some of my favorite truffle salt from Trader Joe’s on them to make them a little bit more sophisticated. Hannah doesn’t waste french fries.
How did you do this week? Did you waste any food? Any good saves?
