Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day without overdosing on green beer? This Lucky 7UP® Sour Apple Spritzer is a great way to celebrate.
For years, St. Patrick’s Day was my favorite holiday. I would take a personal day off from work and sit with friends at the beach all day drinking green beer. Then we’d meet up with other friends at Irish bars that night. This was well before I had kids. I can’t imagine drinking beer all day now. In fact, I can’t imagine drinking all day!
Just because I’m more responsible these days doesn’t mean I have to miss out on all the green drinking fun. This Lucky 7UP® Sour Apple Spritzer can be enjoyed as a mocktail, like I plan to do, or as a cocktail if you add 1 ounce of vodka. It’s a fun drink to serve on St. Patrick’s Day because the kids can enjoy it too without the alcohol.
The best part about this mocktail is that it couldn’t be simpler. Each Lucky 7UP Sour Apple Spritzer Mocktail uses half a can of 7UP and 1 ounce of sour apple mixer.
I like to add pizzazz to my drinks so I added lemon slices and a green sugared rim.
For the rim you’ll need 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 drops of green food coloring. Don’t stir! Use a whisk to mix it together evenly. Coat the rim in a fine layer of syrup or simple syrup and dip into the sugar.
Isn’t that a fun way to add some extra St. Patrick’s Day flair?
To make your own, head to Walmart to pick up a 12 pack of 7UP.
