Mornings are so much easier when kids have a routine. That’s why I love this morning routine checklist. This photo checklist is perfect for preschoolers who can’t read yet.
Use photos for your routine checklist
As easy as it is to print out a ready made checklist, it’s not as much fun. Plus, I really wanted Robert to have ownership of his morning routine checklist. He loved the bedtime routine checklist we made a few months ago, so I knew it would be good to make one just for school mornings. Here is our finished product.
Robert and I set aside 30 minutes one morning to discuss his morning routine. Seeing as how he is three, it wasn’t as much of a discussion as it was a ridiculous conversation about all the things he wants to do at school. Even so, I tried to steer him back on track by going through the routine of waking up, eating breakfast, getting dressed and packing up his backpack.

What is your favorite tip for getting kids in a good morning routine for school?
This is a great idea! I love the pictures for kids who can’t read yet (or are very visual).
This is such a cute idea! I need to make something like this for my daughter too…she’d love it! The printer looks great and you can’t beat the price!
The price is amazing!
This is really cute, and a great idea.It can be so hard to get kids focused on getting ready in the morning.
Right? It’s hard to get my kid focused just to go to the park. I don’t know how we will do when we have to be somewhere on time!
The picture idea is good for the ones that can’t read. I’m thinking to do preschool at home for my daughter. I need to find a curriculum still.
Oh my gosh I love this idea! Now that both my sons are in school – two different schools thank you – the mornings are so much harder. I’m looking forward to the kids being back in school – except mornings! I am going to try this for sure.
Adorable Idea! I did something similar when my daughter was younger!
I love this idea! My kids usually get distracted after breakfast, so with school starting back up this week, this is a great way to get them back on track!
Breakfast can be distracting!
