Thank you Cost Plus World Market for sponsoring this post! #AusOpen #WorldMarketTribe
I love parties, I love wine, and I love Australia. Can you think of any better reasons to host a Shiraz wine tasting party?
Actually, I can! There is one more reason to host an Australian themed food and drinks party: the Australian Open. You can watch the 2017 Australian Open on the Tennis Channel on January 16th through 29th.
Right now, you’re probably reading this and wondering why I’m blogging about sports. It’s a well known fact that I’m not the biggest sports fan. Even so, we have sports on at my house almost non-stop. My husband and two boys love watching sports, and the youngest one absolutely loves tennis. I can guarantee that we will be watching a lot of tennis during the Australian Open. To be honest, I’ll probably be drinking a lot of wine too.
My son isn’t the only reason I’m excited about the Australian Open. I’m also excited because I’m promoting a sweepstakes through Cost Plus World Market to send someone to the 2018 Australian Open! Check out the full details at the end of this post. Head here to enter and learn more.
[bctt tweet=”Enter to win a #trip to #Australia to see the 2018 Australian Open! #giveaway #winit #travel ” username=”eatdrinkandsave”]As a travel blogger, I’m ecstatic to bring you this opportunity. I traveled to Sydney in 2000. It was one of my first big travel experiences, and my first overseas trip without my parents. I went with my dance group and performed as entertainment during the Olympics. It’s an experience that I’ll never forget, and it’s the trip that inspired me to travel. I honestly don’t know if any trip will ever compare!
I was only 14 when we went so I wasn’t able to appreciate the food and drinks of the country. Now that I can appreciate it, I’m eager to go back. Since I don’t have a trip to Australia on the books anytime soon, I’ll have to settle with heading to Cost Plus World Market to get my Australia fix.
One thing I vividly remember from my visit was all the Vegemite! It’s certainly an interesting flavor. While it’s fun to have around, I think I’ll stick to cheese, crackers, Tim Tams, and other snacks.
For this Shiraz wine tasting party, I picked up 3 different bottles of Shiraz/ Shiraz blends and one bottle of Australian blend without Shiraz. Since not everyone drinks wine, I also picked up a pack of Bundaberg ginger beer.
Since you can never have enough wine, I also picked up an extra bottle of Australian table wine just in case we went through it. Good thing I did because we definitely went through 5 bottles of wine during this party.
You can never have enough wine, right?
Love all of the pretty things in this post? You too can have them for a super reasonable price at Cost Plus World Market! I love that place. Don’t they have the best stuff and the best prices? I use them for everything! Outside of food and drink, you can also get great deals on baking supplies, entertaining essentials, and party supplies.
