We love pancake day. Most weekends at our house include a pancake day. This weekend I realized that we were running low on my favorite pancake mix.
I love using Kodiak Cakes because they are whole wheat and only require water. I only had a little bit left, not enough for our usual batch, so I decided to add some mixings in to stretch it out.
Tom loves regular pancakes with nutella spread on top and sliced bananas. This is my version of desert crepes. I personally don’t like the run of the mill pancakes and syrup, so this is one of my favorite pancakes recipes. But since we didn’t have enough mix, I decided to put the nutella and bananas into the mix!
I mashed up almost a whole banana and drizzled some nutella into the mix. Sorry, I didn’t measure the exact amount I just threw in what I wanted and cooked as usual.
This was my final product:
I really liked it this way, but Tom says he likes it better with the nutella on top! Oh well, at least I tried!
How do you stretch your recipes?
