You know how I feel about Starbucks. We are in a very committed relationship. They give me free drinks on my birthday, free milk and hot chocolate for my toddler and always know how to make my day brighter. I like to think it is a healthy relationship, but I realize the amount of money I waste on coffee probably isn’t healthy, which is why I love playing around with my espresso machine. Not long ago I kind of replicated a Starbucks Mocha and now I’ve found a somewhat healthy way to make a sugar free Peppermint Mocha! Score! I’m not crazy about most sugar replacements, but I’m loving these Sweet Leaf Stevia drops. No fake sugar taste here!
Sugar Free Peppermint Mocha
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: none
Keywords: beverage
Ingredients (1 drink)
- 4 ounces of milk or milk substitute
- 2 shots of espresso or 4 ounces of strong coffee
- 10 drops of Sweet Leaf Sweet Drops- peppermint mocha flavored
- sugar free chocolate syrup for garnish
Instructions
Make your coffee or espresso.
Steam your milk, or heat it up in the microwave for 1 minute. You can also heat it up and then add it to a jar and shake it to get a froth similar to steamed milk.
Put steamed milk in your coffee cup, add espresso or coffee and add the Sweet Leaf drops.
Garnish with chocolate syrup and enjoy!
I can’t tell you enough how much I’ve hated using sugar substitutes in my coffee until this product. If you’re looking for a way to keep flavor while avoiding sugar and calories, you’ve got to try this because it only take a few drops to get the desired taste. This is such a cheaper alternative to buying the flavored syrups from Starbucks, which I have been guilty of buying.

I was just thinking today that I have to buy some vanilla syrup so I can start making my own soy vanilla lattes. They are so wonderful, but so darn expensive. This mocha sounds amazing, mint mochas are my favorite.
Mine too! I get peppermint mochas at Starbucks year round even though they take it off the menu after Christmas.
YUM!! That looks delicious and would be perfect to make when I have friends over who can’t have sugar…love it!! Pinned!
Thanks, Jamie!
