Survey Saturday is a fun day where I get to be nosy and ask you questions! Don’t worry, it’s all anonymous unless you want to comment below. This is a way for me to get to know my readers and see what you think about different financial issues.
Last week I asked you about splurges. I wanted to know what you like to splurge on. Here are the results:
Clothes: 12%
Beauty products: 0%
Vacations: 35%
Food: 12%
Presents for your kids: 12%
Coffee: 12%
Splurges? We don’t splurge: 6%
Other: 12%
Isn’t it funny that no one picked beauty products? I’m definitely not a beauty blogger and it seems like my Saturday readers are not either. Someone also commented that it makes sense because we are all most likely moms. I know it’s cliché, but moms really don’t have that much time (or money) to spend on beauty. Oh well.
I should have added wine to this list! My pregnancy brain must have blocked it out. I wonder how well that would have done on my poll. Probably pretty well!
Now, on to this week’s question.
If you had enough money to never work again, would you?
Here is my answer:
I’m currently a SAHM, so I wouldn’t be able to “quit” my job. However, I don’t think I’d put off work entirely. I’m sure I’d want to do something in the work force if I had the time for it.
I can’t wait to hear your answers! Feel free to add more to the conversation
I’ve been a SAHM for 10 years following a lay-off. I did go back to work for 7 months a few years back. The work environment was horrible, didn’t really pay anything and caused much stress. The only good thing about it is that it was at the school my youngest attended (his first year of public school after being homeschooled for several years) and within 2 miles of my home. Nowadays, I’d rather concentrate on ways to reduce our expenses so we can live well within our means than holding a job. I’m privileged to be able to do this, and should my husband lose his job, I’d have to go back to work but this is definitely not something I’d like to do nor do I feel I am worth less as an individual because I choose to manage our household full-time instead of having a career.
You wouldn’t have to ask me twice, I would absolutely quite my job. I would probably end up working to some extent but it would be something I enjoyed and I would be one of those people who talk about how my job isn’t work, it’s fun!
I would love to find a job that isn’t work, but fun. Why can’t camp counselor be a reputable adult job?
LOL! I totally agree Hannah!
I became a SAHM in August when we moved to Florida. The plan is that I stay home until our youngest goes to Pre-k in Fall of 2016 and then go back to teaching.
I kind of became a blogger by accident but love it so much that I’m hoping to be earning enough by then not to go back to work (fingers crossed). While I absolutely loved all my Kindergarteners, the politics and ever changing curriculum made the job very stressful.
