This recipe for a concentrated chocolate sauce can be adapted to make everyone happy. Use it to make hot chocolate or add to coffee for a mocha flavor. The best part is that you can add as much chocolate as you want. You’ll no longer have one person complaining that their hot chocolate is too sweet or not chocolaty enough. It pleases absolutely everyone to make the best hot chocolate.
Save money with homemade hot chocolate
I’m a huge fan of making my own hot chocolate. It’s always way better than those powdered versions with sad excuses for marshmallows. Seriously, does anyone actually like those freeze dried marshmallows?
Last winter I must have made at least 10 different batches of hot chocolate. Each time I made a different batch someone would complain. I felt like I was a character in Goldilocks. One batch was too sweet for one person but not sweet enough for another. Another batch was too rich for some, yet too watery for others.
Many batches later and I’ve finally figured out the best way to please everyone.
Drumroll please….

Concentrated hot chocolate sauce recipe
The secret to pleasing everyone with a hot chocolate recipe is to make a concentrated hot chocolate sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 C. chocolate chips
- 1 C. whipping cream
- 1 C. sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Mix over medium heat on a stove top until dissolved. Whisk rapidly to mix it all together. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.

This way everyone can add the amount of syrup that they want to either water, milk or whipping cream. Or a combination of both.

How I use concentrated chocolate sauce to make hot chocolate
I like mine with 2 Tbsp of concentrated hot chocolate sauce and 6 ounces of soy milk. I prefer it right off the stove, but don’t mind heating it up for about 1 minute in the microwave once it’s been refrigerated.
If you keep it in an airtight jar it should last up to 3 weeks in the fridge.
The possibilities are endless! You could even spice it up to make Mexican hot chocolate or use in in salted caramel hot chocolate.
Use the hot chocolate sauce in a Peppermint mocha too!
I love to add this concentrated chocolate sauce to coffee and espresso drinks.
