Throughout the holidays I stopped keeping track of all my thrifty finds. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted a Thrifty Thursday post and I’ve missed it. I tend to do a bunch of thrifty things throughout the week that don’t make it into bigger, more formal posts and I like being able to mention some of my fun finds in one post.
lots of luck with word of mouth marketing
It’s been a fun couple of weeks over here with my word of mouth marketing websites. Remember, word of mouth marketing sites are not just for bloggers! Anyone can get free stuff. Go back this post to learn more.
I recently received some Brookside dark chocolate crunchy clusters and Kleenex from Crowdtap. The Brookside was amazing. I’d had their products before and wasn’t the biggest fan, but I’m loving this new product! The extra granola crunch makes the product for me. I’m so in love. They taste great alone or with yogurt and fruit.
A couple weeks later I received Reese’s spread from Influenster. O. M. G. This doesn’t even need an explanation. If you like Reese’s and you like other spreads, you love Reese’s spread. Think peanut butter meets Nutella, but way better. I’m loving it on apples, toast, and especially oatmeal.
officially back to couponing
It’s official! I now have two weeks worth of inserts. And I’m going big. When I did couponing hard core a year ago, I would get 2 papers. Now, I’m getting 4 paper inserts. It’s kinda creapy because I meet a lady every Monday night in the Publix parking lot to buy inserts. I’ve never participated in a drug deal, but I imagine it would be very similar to this. Except what I’m doing is legal. It is perfectly legal to buy inserts from people. At least as far as I know…
I’m not seeing the benefits yet. In fact, I’m spending more money. But that is not because of couponing. I’m trying to help Tom go hard core with his low carb diet. He has increased his meat consumption and I prefer to buy high quality meat with no added hormones when I can afford it. I’m aiming to spend the amount we save from couponing on meat from Whole Foods. We will see how that goes.
new love for cloth diapers
Now that I’ve realized that Robert is a heavy wetter in the mornings, cloth has gotten much easier. I did a complete overhaul of my stash and got rid of all the ones that had leaks that couldn’t be fixed. Then I bought 3 Trend Lab diapers from Twinkle Twinkle Little Store that are made just for boys. These diapers have saved my life. It makes me even happier that they are only $12.99 a piece. Many cloth diapers start out at $20 a piece which makes these Trend Labs a complete steal! I couldn’t find them for $12.99 on Amazon which makes me think I’m getting even more of a steal by using a local store. Click here to see where you can buy Trend Lab locally.
fun new movie site
Fandor, is a movie subscription site dedicated to independent and award winning films. It’s such a cool, indie concept and I love it! For the rest of January, memberships to the service will be discounted 40% from $10/month to $6/month for all new subscribers registering using this link. I know of a few movie fans who would love this site!
security card shield review
I received these shields in return for an Amazon and blog review. I love them! They shield your cards so people can’t scan them and steal your credit card numbers. They also protect your hotel room keys from becoming demagnetized. While I enjoy paying wallet-less, this is a must have if you are taking your cards out of the house. What wonderful peace of mind!
I borrowed the letters DVD from my friend, Yolonda, and Robert loved it! I have to admit that I was very skeptical that it would work and I can’t believe it works so well. Yolonda’s son, Bryce, was always blowing us away with his letters so I figured it was worth a try. While Robert isn’t anywhere near Bryce’s level, he loves getting positive recognition for the letters he does know.
I found the whole series on Groupon for only $39.99. Check it out if you have a child, totally worth it!
I recently teamed up with Healthy Home Company and Mom’s Meet to revamp my cleaning supplies. It’s almost time for Spring cleaning and the toxic home test helped me figure out what supplies I need. Click on the picture below to take the toxic home test yourself.
The Healthy Home Company reminds me of The Honest Company, but with more of a concentration on cleaning. It’s a cool site and you can shop their products after you take the toxic home quiz. I haven’t bought anything yet, but I’m definitely interested in their concentrated household cleaner.
That’s it for my roundup! I’m sure I’ll go into more detail about all of this stuff soon. For now, I had all this stuff on my mind and wanted to share it ASAP. I’ll follow up with more info and better pictures.
