It’s Friday again, and you know what that means. It’s time for another week in review post. The holidays have been so crazy that I haven’t had much time to devote to personal posts like this.

As much as I love sharing perfected recipes, crafts, and money saving tips, I really love putting together this post on Fridays. It’s the perfect opportunity to share what we’ve been up to. This past week has been absolutely insane- in a good way. I’ve taken two press trips, rung in the New Year, and thought long and hard about my goals for 2017.

2017 Goals

I want bore you with all the details of my goals, but here are the top 2:

Work smarter, not harder

I’m going to implement this more with my blog. Instead of blogging more, I hope to blog better, share wisely on social media, and hopefully make more money. So far, so good. I’ve worked less this week, but digital influencing jobs and sponsored blog posts are still coming my way. It isn’t a bad way to start the year!

Spend more quality time with my family

I want to play with each of the boys one on one every day. I also want to have a “date night” experience with Tom at least once a week. It can be as simple as playing a game of Scrabble.

Latest travel sneak peaks

Last week I took my little sister, little brother, and my two boys to Daytona Beach for 2 nights. What a great trip. Here are a couple of my favorite shots to tide you over until I blog all about the trip. Daytona Beach is an awesome place to visit, especially if you want to explore the Florida beaches without spending a ton of money.

Here is a picture of my brother, Charlie jumping over Robert in front of our hotel, The Fountain Beach Resort.

This is a picture of the boys eating at Dancing Avocado Kitchen. What a great restaurant! It’s funky, healthy, kid friendly and best of all, not overpriced.

I was so afraid to climb the Ponce Inlet lighthouse, but my 3 year old insisted on climbing it. I’m so happy he encouraged me to do it. The climb up was exhilarating. Isn’t this shot from the bottom fun?

Don’t worry, he’s on the bottom stair in the picture below. He didn’t fall!

After my family trip, I embarked on a girls trip to Key West. Here are a couple of my favorite shots. The three of us went to college together and get together ever few years.

We ate so well on this trip. My favorite meal was from Blue Heaven, where I got the eggs Benedict with key lime hollandaise sauce.

Blue Heaven Eggs Benedict

The highlight of the trip for me was going to the Hemingway Home and Museum. Tom and I wanted to visit the first time we visited Key West, but didn’t want to spend the money. Not that I’ve done it, I can tell you that it is well worth the $14 entrance fee. It’s beautiful!

While I was there I also checked out all the kid friendly things to do. Sure, I didn’t have my kids, but that didn’t stop me from acting like one! The Key West Aquarium was my favorite.

More Friday Favorites

Here are a couple of my favorite things I’ve discovered and love this week:

JUST Water

Just Water in recycled paper

JUST Water is committed to reducing their environmental impact and creating products that are ‘Better For Everyone’. The water comes in a paper bottle in order to use less fossil fuels. You can then recycle the bottle like you would normally. Pretty cool, right?

I’m also loving all these boots from Cents of Style (affiliate links)

Fashion Friday – 1/6/17 – All the Boots (Starting under $20!) + FREE SHIPPING w/code BOOTSALE

The code is BOOTSALE and it will take $15 off the lowest marked price, with FREE SHIPPING. The code is valid 1/6 through 1/8.

That’s everything I’ve been up to over the last week!

Happy weekend!

While I love saving money, I also have expensive taste and a passion for the environment. I firmly believe that you can live frugally while enjoying the finer things in life such as travel and high end products. I like fine foods and quality ingredients, I also enjoy spending money on fancy local coffee and kombucha. It’s all about the experience!
