Happy Friday! How is it time for a week in review post again already? The weeks are flying by in 2017.
This week in particular has gone by fast and it has left me feeling completely drained. A week ago I woke up to this view in Cabo.
Getting back into the groove after Cabo
I’ve been playing catch up for the last 6 days. I’ve been completely exhausted since getting back from Cabo. Totally worth it though. Next week I’m off to Fort Wayne, Indiana for another press trip, then to Disney World the next week for the Traveling Mom retreat. I knew the life of a travel blogger would be tiresome, but I had no idea I’d be this tired.
I’ve had a hard time finding time to do everything this week. I haven’t felt like I’m doing a great job at anything. I haven’t felt great professionally or as a wife or a mom, but luckily I have moments where it’s all worth it. This smile makes everything right in the world.
The day after I got back from Cabo we took the kids to the beach to attempt to watch the sunset. We brought some goodies with us that Chloe’s Fruit shared with me.
The whole family enjoyed eating them on the beach. It was a cool enough evening that they didn’t melt too fast.
It’s always fun to eat dessert on the beach, right? I like that these are mostly fruit with just a little cane sugar.
Don’t be fooled by the pretty pictures. We actually left the beach well before sunset because both boys got wet and it was too cold to stay out there without towels. I’m pretty sure both kids left in tears and I barked at them for getting wet. Hopefully they remember the happy popsicles from this beach trip and not a frustrated mommy.
Planning the boys’ birthday party
I tried to get ahead of the game by working on birthday party prep this week since I’ll be out of town next week. I made the invitations with my new HP ENVY 7640.
I’m a part of the HP Mom Panel and they sent this to me as a thank you. I’m in love with it! It was a fun little gift to arrive home to after Cabo.
While the invitations turned out fine, my cake pops were a bit of a mess. I’m throwing the boys a #DisneyKids Playdate party through Mom Select and Disney Parks. I really want my party to look good since I’ll be blogging about it, but I think the stress of making cake pops is too much for me.
They didn’t turn out bad, but I didn’t find any part of this enjoyable. Okay, one part: I loved having Robert help me. We did these while Jackson napped and it was fun to be in the kitchen with him. Other than that, I hated every minute of it. I don’t find playing with chocolate to be fun whatsoever.
I promised Robert we would try making chocolate covered Oreo Mickeys next. Maybe those will be more fun for me!
