It’s always fun to get free things in the mail. That’s why I love websites that send freebies. Months ago I blogged about all the different word of mouth marketing websites you could use to get freebies. As any good researcher would do, I signed up for all of them myself! Find out which ones I love and which ones you can skip!
Companies love to send freebies through word of mouth marketing websites
I’ve tested out all the word of mouth marketing websites to help you get free stuff without making you waste your valuable time.
If you are interested in getting paid for similar work, check out this post to get started as a social media influencer.
Out of the 8 websites I included in the original list, I routinely get free stuff from 5 of them. I’ve done really well with Smiley360, Crowdtap, BzzAgent, Influenster and House Party.
Get free stuff even if you aren’t a blogger!
These 5 sites are open to anyone, you don’t have to be a blogger. I just happen to be a blogger who takes advantage of these freebies.
If you’re a blogger and a mom, you may also love the Green Moms Meet program. I’ve gotten quite a few good freebies from them too and all you do in return is post a blog review.
6 of the best Word of Mouth Marketing Websites
All of these require very little work with the most return. I rarely go onto their websites unless I receive an email that says I qualify for free stuff. At that point I’ll go on the website, take the surveys and then find out if I qualify. It’s so easy.
After getting my free items I don’t have much to do other than prove that I’ve posted to the correct social media channels. I find HouseParty and Crowdtap to be the easiest to navigate afterwards. BzzAgent and Smiley360 require a bit more time.
I love Influenster the best because they offer the most high-end free items, sometimes worth hundreds of dollars.
Here is a recap of what I’ve gotten free:
Daily Goodie Box: Monthly goodie box with mix of full size and sample products
BzzAgent: Secret Outlast Clear Gel, Nestle DelightFulls, Quaker Steel Cut Oatmeal, Suja Essentials Organic Juice, Crest 3D whitening kit
House Party: Mega Bloks, Arlo Dofino cheese pack, Coors party pack
Influenster: Victoria’s Secret workout clothes and Reeses Spreads
Smiley 360: Sleep Number pillow, Seeds of Change meal, Arm and Hammer mouth care
Crowdtap: Kleenex tissues, Brookside chocolates
Overall, I’ve done pretty well and invested very little time in order to get these freebies. I like to post stuff on social media anyway, so I might as well be getting free stuff in return!
More word of mouth marketing websites that give freebies
Here are the word of mouth marketing sites that I haven’t loved. These sites still give out free stuff, but the ones listed above are easier and well worth your time.
PinchME
I have not been satisfied with PinchMe. This site only gives out free samples, while all the other ones give you free full sized products. If you don’t complete the surveys afterwards you aren’t eligible for samples the next time around. They only offer samples once a month and sometimes the samples suck. I got condoms. Twice. And I’m pregnant. You have to get on their site at exactly noon in order to get the samples and the samples go fast. I may keep trying, but I won’t block out time from my day to do it. Too time consuming for very little in return.
VocalPoint
VocalPoint used to be great for freebies and I haven’t gotten anything in over a year. I know they changed their website a while back and that might be the reason why. Maybe they aren’t doing freebies anymore. All I know is I’ve had no luck with them lately.

This is a great resource! When I revamped my blog I told myself I would hold off on products until I was good and ready for them. When I started blogging I took on as much as I could and then got pretty quickly burned out. Influenster is great. I got a #VowVoxBox from them that had some great products in it. Unfortunately it was before my wedding and I didn’t get to promote it because all of the wedding stuff kind of took over my life. One of the face lotions that came in the box was worth over $30.
Love this post! Thanks for sharing! It’s funny you posted this about the same time I came up with this page! http://www.mymonkeysandme.com/blogger-biz/

That’s so funny, Erin! We must have been thinking the same thing at the same time.
