I stayed at the Wyndham for a reduced media rate during the Traveling Mom retreat. All opinions are mine alone.

Need a place to stay near Disney World that doesn’t cost a fortune? Then the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs Garden is a fabulous option. It’s the best affordable Disney hotel for many reasons and is considered a hidden gem in Disney Springs. Read on to find out why!

How to find an affordable Disney hotel

What Makes This Hotel Unique

Wyndham hotels and Wyndham Garden are always separate hotels with the exception of the Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs location. Wyndham Garden is a very nice hotel but typically with less splendor of a traditional Wyndham. Not in Disney though! For the price of a garden room you can get all of the amenities of a traditional Wyndham hotel including the huge family friendly pool, access to a fun director, and 24 hour onsite quick service dining, plus all the Disney perks!

Since the Wyndham is an official Disney hotel, the perks are even better than staying at a typical Wyndham. The hotel offers continuous free shuttles to Disney World, the staff is knowledgable on all things Disney, a Disney store sells magic bands onsite, and you can walk to Disney Springs because it is the closest hotel. I’ve walked to Disney Springs from one of the furthest hotels and I can tell you, it’s so much nicer to walk from the Wyndham, especially in the Orlando heat!

I’ve written several times about great places to stay in Orlando and feel like I need to address why you should you stay here instead of somewhere else. If you and your family can comfortably stay in one hotel room with two queen beds, then this is your best bet for convenience and affordable Disney fun. You get almost all of the perks of staying in the park, with the exception of extra magic hours, at nearly 1/3 of the price.

The price

Room prices fluctuate seasonally like all hotels in the Orlando area. The lowest they go is $109 a night. For reference they were going for $119 a night when we stayed in April for our Traveling Mom retreat.

Fun fact: The Wyndham loves to work with groups and offers great group rates for schools, church groups, and athletic groups.

The rooms

The rooms are standard with two queen beds, a television, small bathroom, and closet.

While the room isn’t huge, it is plenty big enough for a pack and play, which is complementary if you need one.  The garden rooms all face outside. Some of them even overlook the beautiful pool area.

Amenities

Family friendly pool with cabanas

The pool is fabulous. You could skip a day at Disney and hang out by the pool all day. Cabanas are available to rent for $25 a day.

If you want shade without the cabanas, head to the covered bar and grill area. They offer amazing drinks and delicious food.

Fun Director

Jill is the resident fun director who is at the Wyndham 5 days a week directing all the fun. She is in charge of seasonal events, arts and crafts, pin trading, and all things Disney. If you have a Disney question, she is your lady!

Transportation

I still can’t get over how great the Disney transportation is at the Wyndham. It’s completely complimentary and runs as often as it does from any other Disney resort. Most hotels in Disney Springs have “complimentary shuttles” that only run once an hour or even less!

Game Room

Older kids can entertain themselves in the game room.

Character Breakfast

Three days a week, the Wyndham has a character breakfast with Goofy and Pluto for less than you would eat at any of the other character breakfasts.

Hidden Mickeys

You can find hidden Mickeys all over the hotel. This one was my favorite. Can you see it?

Easy Recycling Options

One of my least favorite things about travel is not being able to find recycling bins. The Wyndham has them all over the place. I loved the ease!

Easy Walk to Disney Springs

The quick walk to Disney Springs is what makes this hotel so unique. You can easily walk down to the restaurants in Disney Springs for a fun family dinner. I loved trying out the new Planet Hollywood in Disney Springs. Check out how delicious these Chinese BBQ pork bao’s look. OMG- they were amazing.

Overall, the Wyndham Garden is a great place to stay with or without families. It’s by far the best bang for your buck I’ve ever seen this close to Disney. We loved it so much that we are heading back again this weekend to try out the Tower rooms!

Have you stayed here? What did you think?

Great read! Thank you! Quick question, did you Uber from the airport to the hotel or rent a car?

We live within driving distance so we had our own car. I am pretty sure that an Uber would be your best bet if on a budget. Once you are in Disney Springs you can get transportation to the parks. You might even be able to get a shuttle to and from then airport!
